Welcome to my first issue of Nini's Notes, the newsletter no one technically asked for, but I’ve been dying to launch for ages. Sound familiar? 🙋🏽‍♀️

What finally made it happen? A.I.! Not just because it made everything from ideation to design way easier, but also because—let’s be real—tech waits for no one and I'm scared I'll be left behind if I don't make A.I. a daily part of my life.

So here’s the deal: While I love the idea of writing you a fresh, witty newsletter every week, forever, endless routine scares me. So instead, I’m committing to this experiment in 12-week bursts. Every Monday, you’ll get Nini’s Notes, where I’ll share my latest A.I.-powered experiment aimed at striking a balance between:

  • ROOTS: Our need for stability, authenticity, and groundedness.
  • WINGS: Our need for progress, learning, and growth.

Next week, I’ll break down exactly what that means (see what I did there?), but for now, let’s dive into this week’s experiment: using A.I. to help you launch your newsletter...or any other creative content project.

EXPERIMENT: Launch a Newsletter in Record Time

Step 1: Set Up Your Tech Stack​
If you don’t have a registered email or landing page yet, here are my favorite tools:

  1. Register your domain: via Porkbun​
  2. Create a new email: via Google Workspace
  3. Sign up for an email service provider: via ConvertKit (also great for creating an easy landing page)

Step 2: Define Your Tone & Writing Style​
The fun part! Use ChatGPT to analyze your existing writing—emails, LinkedIn posts, whatever feels “you”—and create a style guide. Paste this into the chat:

“Read and analyze the following [writing samples]. Pay attention to tone, humor, and style. Summarize the key characteristics and replicate this voice.”

Tweak until it’s perfect, then say: “Add this to memory. This is my preferred writing style.” Boom, your A.I. knows your vibe!

Step 3: Create a Project Plan​
If you’re a perfectionist like me, detailed project planning can feel daunting. Start with the fun stuff—like tone and branding—to get some momentum. Then ask ChatGPT:

“Act like the world’s best email marketing strategist. Create a project plan for launching a new newsletter with a goal of 13,000 subscribers in 3 months. Include tasks, deliverables, and milestones.”

Step 4: Create Your Newsletter​
Let’s be real: ChatGPT’s first version of your newsletter probably won’t be a masterpiece, but that’s not the point. The goal is to get something on the page. Ask ChatGPT to draft your first newsletter based on the project plan you created. Once you have the draft, keep refining it:

  • If the language is too stiff, ask ChatGPT to add more humor or casual phrases.
  • If the format doesn’t feel right, ask it to restructure into bullet points or shorter paragraphs.
  • Need subject line ideas? Ask for a few suggestions and why each one works:

"Come up with 5 similar variations of a subject line that maximizes open rates while still referring to [how A.I. Helped Me Launch This Newsletter]. Before each variation, I want you to think through what a good subject line would be and elaborate on your reasoning before you write out the subject line."

Keep iterating until you're happy, treating A.I. as your extremely patient co-writer. It certainly beats going at it alone!
